Acceptance

Accepting who I am
Is a big step for me
But it is the key
To my success
And the key
To my inner peace

The brain injury
Has created a new me
And I must grow
To love the new me
So that I can succeed
In being me

I must let go the frustrations
Of what I cannot do
And accept and appreciate
What I can do

Life for me has not ended
It has a new beginning
New rules, new gifts, new talents
I must accept this new balance

A new balance to my life
According too, new insight
what is beneficial or not beneficial
In order for me to have a quality life

This life I now live IS my life
Not the life pre injury
But the life
Of the new me

I must accept
This new way of life
If I desire
To succeed in life
