Christmas a Celebration of God's Love
Christmas is a celebration of God’s love. Have you ever wondered what true love is? What true love looks like? How true love acts? Think on that as you read these passages of scripture.
John 1:1, 3, & 14
John 1:1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,…..the only begotten of the Father
Let’s call Him Love. Love took on the form of His creation that His creation might be saved. Love set aside His titles died and became the sacrifice for His creation (us). Love took the charge of being guilty of a crime He did not commit that His creation (us) would not have to serve the punishment. Love sacrificed an entire life so that His creation (us) might live.
Grasp what Love did. Love the Creator, loved so much His creation that for a moment in time He stepped out of the foundation of who He was and lowered Himself down to the form of His creation. That His creation could receive salvation and not damnation (John 3:16-17). Love lowered Himself so that His creation could be elevated and become heirs and joint heirs with Him (Romans 8:16). Love became poor so that His creation could become rich (II Corinthians 8:9). Love suffered pain that his creation might be healed (Isaiah 53:5 & 1 Peter 2:24). Love endured the agony of chastisement so that His creation could have peace (Isaiah 53:5). Love who knew no sin became sin for us that we might be made righteous (II Corinthians 5:21). Love gave and came to earth proving beyond a shadow of a doubt, He loves.
Christmas should be a celebration of that love. The love of God the Father and the love of Jesus Christ. As you celebrate Christmas do not forget the above insight. Love came and was born on earth for no stronger reason than that, Love, loves us. Remember that Jesus is our reason for the season. God bless you all and Merry Christmas.
With love,
